In recent years, India has seen drastic advancements in online infrastructure and improved internet connectivity. This has led the country to adopt digitalization wherever conceivable. In FY2019, India housed approximately 296 million operating vehicles causing severe traffic issues. Waiting times at toll plazas were grueling to daily commutes. To eliminate this situation, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) introduced FASTag payments.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) developed the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) to digitalize all toll payments. The NETC allows vehicle drivers to make cashless toll payments without having to wait in queues. This is accomplished by using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology with the help of a device termed as FASTag. Once you buy the FASTag, you must affix it to the windscreen of your vehicle. When the vehicle passes an Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) lane, the Toll Plaza system scans the tag ID.

Now ICON INDIA users can recharge Fastag using the application, PC, or Laptop, Fastag recharge, the list of providers supported on the ICON INDIA app is Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Equitas, HDFC Bank Fastag Recharge, ICICI Bank Fastag Recharge, IDFC First Bank, IndusInd Bank, Paul Merchants, Kotak Mahindra Bank, The Federal Bank, Paytm Payments Bank, Indian Highways Management Company.
